Long time no see, and thank you for stopping by! Some of you may have noticed that it has been a while since my last post and I suppose I had never intentionally meant to take a hiatus from blogging, but life got the better of me.
At some point, I gradually spent more time on Instagram and after a while, I felt like I also needed to step away from posting regularly as well (I’ve explained a bit more in my Instagram update here).
Like many people, life had also taken a huge turn since COVID. I welcomed my first child during lockdown in 2020, encountered some personal health challenges, took a career break to launch a beverage startup and then as if life wasn’t crazy enough – I had my second child (!).
But despite how crazy busy it has been, everything seems to have fallen into the right place and I think the chaos has helped me really appreciate and develop a deep sense of gratitude towards many aspects and people in my life, which is the reason why it’s midnight and I’m compelled to write all of this down rather than sleeping! It has been exciting watching my children grow, fall in love with new flavours and experiences. Working in a food startup has helped gain an incredible insight into and deeper appreciation of the food and restaurant industry and I’m still learning every single day, whilst re-discovering things I’ve enjoyed again.
Every time I start drafting an Instagram post, I find myself writing endless paragraphs, yet the platform and most other things are moving more and more towards fast, consumable content. There is nothing wrong, I love a good reel myself but I have also missed the reflection, reading and hearing others pen their thoughts. So here I am, back to writing. Over the past few weeks I’ve had such immense joy reflecting, planning upcoming posts which will hopefully lead to more thoughtful, meaningful content with a focus on simple pleasures and the little luxuries in life. Not always the shiniest new places but often, local haunts, old favourites worth rediscovering, and more of a focus on storytelling.
When I originally penned the name, Table to Paper, it was a metaphor for translating the experiences, literally from the table to words, stories… in a way that could be easily understood and enjoyed by an audience. And I hope to be able to continue to do this.
Thank you so much for sticking around and for new readers – welcome. I will do a bit of a re-introduction in a separate post so stay tuned!
